SOMA
BRUT HOTEL
a rooftop sanctuary where thoughtful design, sustainable ethos, and warm hospitality converge above Tulsa’s skyline.
Perched atop the Brut Hotel, SOMA is a rooftop destination where elegance meets intention. In collaboration with the hotel’s sustainable ethos, A. Nigh Herndon of Studio West of Death was entrusted with shaping SOMA’s brand identity from concept to execution. The result is a visual language that mirrors the refined minimalism and eco-conscious spirit of the property, while honoring Tulsa’s architectural and natural landscape.
At the heart of the brand mark, the “O” becomes a quiet emblem of place and time—symbolizing both the rising and setting sun viewed from SOMA’s ninth-floor terrace, with its 360° panorama of Tulsa’s storied Art Deco skyline. This visual anchor connects the celestial rhythm to the guest experience, evoking calm, ritual, and connection.
Studio West of Death led the branding process, designed and launched SOMA’s social media campaigns, and created a one-of-a-kind large-scale painting now permanently housed within the property—an abstract work that reflects the layered textures of sky, stone, and city.
Now entering its second year, SOMA has swiftly become one of the most sought-after afternoon reservations in the region, celebrated for its seamless blend of elevated atmosphere and grounded hospitality. The brand identity, rooted in simplicity and depth, continues to guide its presence and perception—an evolving story of sunlight, skyline, and sustainable luxury, told from the rooftop of a reimagined Tulsa landmark.
